May 12-16 2009: to be directed by Simon Riordan on Chapter Main Stage.

Simon’s production of Macbeth was originally scheduled for November ’08 – at precisely the time that Chapter Main Stage is due to be closed for refurbishment. Attempts made to find an alternative venue were unsuccessful so Simon with the full agreement of the Board opted for a postponement until May ’09.

The Seventh Seal by Ingmar Bergman
Grim Reaper

November 17-21 to be directed by Marie-Claire Costley. Negotiations are under way at the moment for the rights to perform the screen-play to Ingmar Bergman’s classic film The Seventh Seal. If they fail then Marie-Claire will direct the 1874 adaptation of East Lynne by TA Palmer.

In addition the Panel also selected one production for March 2010 – Mark Jenkins’ Strindberg Knew My Father to be directed by the author.
