Lysistrata by Aristophanes

Background

The girls of Athens are fed up with their men. They keep going off to war rather than staying at home. So Lysistrata and her friends come up with a plan to bring peace to Greece. They call a sex strike - but will it bring the men to their senses?

Anti-war, brash and cheeky, this play is as relevant today as when it was written by Aristophanes 2,500 years ago.
